What does the ADN program prepare you to do?

This program prepares graduates for beginning level clinical practice as Registered Nurses. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses. The license to practice nursing in the State of Washington is granted by the Washington State Board of Nursing. To be eligible to write the NCLEX (the nursing licensure exam), the commission requires you to provide information about physical/mental conditions and any filed criminal charges.

The Bellevue College Associate Degree in Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Tuition & Fees

Tuition and fees are billed by Bellevue College each quarter. The figures below are an estimate of tuition and fee costs for the duration of the full-time or the part-time program. The charges for tuition and fees are subject to change at the discretion of Bellevue College and the Nursing Program. These figures do not include indirect costs that may be incurred while attending the program, such as housing, cost of travel to and from campus or clinical sites, etc.

Does our ADN program prepare you for a non-WA state nursing license?

The Bellevue College Associate Degree Nursing Program curriculum is designed to meet the educational requirements for the national certification that is required for employment in the United States. The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) administers the exam.

In accordance with U.S. Department of Education Regulation 34 CFR 668.43 (a) (5) (v), the associate degree nursing program at Bellevue College meets the state education requirements for a registered nursing license in the states of Washington. Washington State Department of Health is the agency responsible for individual licensure.

Oregon licensure requires, in addition, seven hours of pain management-related CE for licensure.

Bellevue College has not determined if the associate degree nursing program at Bellevue College meets the state education requirements in any other state, any U.S. Territory, or the District of Columbia. Please contact the state regulatory agency for nursing in any other state for which this information is needed.

NCLEX & Other Exams | NCSBN

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) develops the NCLEX exam to test the competency of nursing school graduates in the U.S. and Canada.

COVID Vaccine Statement

Many of our clinical partner are requiring that clinical students be fully vaccinated, or even have a booster, against COVID-19 regardless of whether the student qualifies for a religious or medical exemption as an accommodation from the College. Therefore, if you are not vaccinated against COVID-19 (regardless of whether you qualify for a religious or medical exemption), Bellevue College likely will not be able to place you in a clinical site, which means you will not be able to complete the program you have started.

There are no current plans to change any Covid policy or procedures as of July 31, 2023.
